Biography

I was born on December 28th, 1957 and was always interested in music, from listening to early Beatles while I played with my Lincoln Logs and  Erector sets to learning how to play ukulele and writing my first song in the 8th grade. Besides listening to the top forty and Larry Ryan on KEEL radio, I had, from high school on, a real connection to melodic and harmonic classical music as well as the British bands who incorporated these styles. Two_ of my favorite albums were “Sgt. Pepper” and “Madman Across The Water” so I soaked in the Beatles, Elton John, Cat Stevens, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Yes, Emerson-Lake and Palmer, Traffic, Genesis, Donovan, Bee Gees, Gentle Giant, Peter Gabriel and Elvis Costello to name a few. On the American side there was always Crosby-Stills-Nash and Young, Jackson Browne, The Lovin’ Spoonful as well Jefferson Airplane, Spirit  and even Leo Kottke and Leonard Cohen.

In 1975 I earnestly began to write and sing my own songs and have done so to date. In 1983 after digging ditches and being an apprenticed laborer I started my professional career as a Petroleum Geologist of which I still am. After some success in 2004 I started my long- life dream of recording all the music in my head and “set it free”. I started my 1st record and named it “The 29th Dream”, which represented 29 years of writing music. I still perform locally on occasion and will soon have a private performance release party for the “29th Dream” and within the year will release my second recording entitled “Leather And Wood”. I hope that you will listen and let me know what you think.
